INTRODUCTION

The Conference on Industrial Informatics (JII – Jornadas de Informática Industrial) is an open forum for researchers, practitioners and students that use and/or develop applications and industrial systems, both in academic and professional settings, fostering the interaction and exchange of experiences in these environments. It is therefore expected that the participants of JII exchange ideas and share the results of their professional and research activities in the area of Industrial Informatics, in sessions and discussion panels.

The 8th Conference on Industrial Informatics (JII 2011) will be held as part of the 40th Argentine Conference on Informatics (40th JAIIO), on August 29th 2011 in Córdoba, Argentina.

In this edition, the topics of interest include the development of models and information technology applications in:

  • Productive chains: Especially those showing the application of projects, solutions, products and value adding services using information systems.
  • Industrial Processes: Computational simulation, imaging technologies, electronics and communications, related to the development of methods and processes associated to production.
  • Activities related to any of the mentioned areas that provide theoretical or applied knowledge.
